Ray Rice’s high school removes RB from Wall of Fame

Since video surfaced of him punching his then-fiancee in the face, running back Rice has seen many — from the Baltimore Ravens, Rutgers and sponsors — distance itself from him.

More from Baltimore Ravens

Add his high school to the list.

New Rochelle High School has removed Rice from its Wall of Fame and his jersey from its gymnasium. His retired high school jersey has not been moved.

Still, Rice might just be back near his old high school soon enough.

In wake of Rice’s release from Baltimore, WFAN radio host Craig Carton said he spoke with Rice and that the running back might move back to Rochelle, New York, according to CBS.

"“My guess is that he’ll move back to New Rochelle. That’s where his mom is, and family, supportsystem, etcetera. And I will say this, whether you want to hear it or not, (he’s) very remorseful, takes full ownership of it and recognizes that this is now what people will think about him. And he has to do a lot of work to try to change that. Because he’d like people to know that’s not who Ray Rice is.”"

Rice and New Rochelle won a state championship in 2003.

The Ravens drafted Rice with the No. 55 pick in the 2008 NFL Draft. He has 37 career touchdowns in six seasons.
