More and more details are starting to emerge about what exactly when down between Ray Rice and his now-wife Janay Palmer at the Revel hotel on Feb. 15.

More from Baltimore Ravens

TMZ Sports released video of Rice’s knockout blow to Palmer in the hotel’s elevator. ESPN’s Outside the Lines has followed that up with a report saying Rice spat at Palmer multiple times during the night of the incident.

Also included in OTL’s report is insight into what happened in the immediate aftermath of the attack, including Palmer’s first words:

"The security staffers said they did not see any sign of injury on Palmer’s face or head but added that her hair was covering much of her face, making it hard to determine her condition. They also said they didn’t see any blood in the elevator or on the hip-level railing that Palmer’s head appeared to strike as she fell to the elevator floor.“The first thing he [Rice] said is, ‘She’s intoxicated. She drank too much. I’m just trying to get her to the room,'” one staffer said.“When she regained consciousness she said, ‘How could you do this to me? I’m the mother of your kid,'” that same staffer told “Outside the Lines.”"

Palmer’s words truly illustrate how awful of a situation this is. The fact that Rice was able to strike the mother of his child is deeply disturbing. All one can do is feel terrible for Palmer.

The Ravens released and the NFL suspended Rice on Monday after TMZ’s release of the video. The Ravens selected Rice with the No. 55 pick of the 2008 NFL Draft.
