The third week of college football is set to kick off on Saturday, and while the slate of games looks to be pretty one-sided all the way through, there is one game that might cause some problems for a Top 25 team.

The UCLA Bruins have had two incredibly close games so far and they enter the third week of the season as a pretty weak No. 12 team in the country. That being said, they’re still ranked in the top 15 of college teams ans could be a few weeks and a couple lucky breaks away from snagging a spot in the top 10.

Even with the struggles, the Bruins have still won both of their games by at least a touchdown but take into consideration those two games were against unranked opponents in Virginia and Memphis. Brett Hundley has almost 700 yards passing through the first two games of the year for the Bruins but the defense has allowed a combined 55 points through the first couple of games and doesn’t rank in the top 50 of total defenses in the NCAA.

Simply put, the Bruins aren’t winning games in a strong manner and that might come back to bite them in the end with Texas. Charlie Strong is still looking for his first signature win of his first season as his first two games were polar opposites of one another. the win over North Texas was a blowout but BYU blew Texas out the following week, leaving many wondering just where this team is.

Beating the UCLA Bruins at home would be a statement win not for the Longhorns season but for Charlie Strong as head coach. It’s not something that is certain to happen, as Texas has been bipolar at best with their performances so far this season, but counting them out against the Bruins would be a foolish thing to do.
