Brett Hundley was mentioned as a potential first round pick last year when the redshirt sophomore quarterback for the UCLA Bruins developed into one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the nation.

Hundley returned to UCLA for the 2014 season which likely will be his final one in a Bruins uniform, but after two up-and-down games, the early reviews on Hundley are not favorable and ESPN’s Todd McShay says the once high draft stock of Hundley is crashing down.

"“Maybe it’s not all the offensive line,” McShay said on ESPN Radio’s “SVP & Russillo” via 247Sports. “At some point, Brett Hundley has gotta do a better job with his eyes. He’s gotta keep his eyes up in the pocket. He drops them too often. He’s more worried about where the pressure is coming from and how he can escape than he is playing the quarterback position: going through his progression reads, feeling the pressure, side-stepping it or stepping up versus the outside rush, and then making the right decision throwing the ball down the field.”"

Hundley struggled in the opener against Virginia when the Bruins offensive line could not slow down the Cavaliers pass rush and made him look terrible. One week later, Hundley threw for 396 yards and three touchdowns in the win against Memphis, but questions about his accuracy persisted.

“He’s a little bit inconsistent with his accuracy, a little inconsistent with his decision-making, but he’s a physical freak. He has all the tools. I think the biggest thing he’s got to do, both from a team and an individual perspective looking at the next level, is he’s got to improve his pocket presence or. . . NFL teams are gonna start getting nervous that he’s gonna be able to make that adjustment at the next level.”

With Marcus Mariota, Jameis Winston, Bryce Petty likely to be in the 2015 NFL Draft, Hundley could find himself out of the first round conversation if he can’t improve his performance, especially his accuracy and decision-making.
