Jake Matthews ruled out for Week 2 vs. Bengals
By Josh Hill
The Atlanta Falcons are trying to bounce back from whatever you call last season, but already that’s starting to become a lot easier said than done. There are a lot of folks following the Falcons thanks to their time on Hard Knocks this season and one of the players briefly profiled at times won’t be taking the field in Week 2.

Jake Matthews isn’t going to be suiting up for the Falcons this weekend when his team takes on the Bengals and that’s going to be something that adds some pressure to coming away with a win and a 2-0 mark.
According to Ian Rapoport from NFL Network as well as the Atlanta Falcons official Twitter account, Matthews has no structural damage but won’t be healthy enough to play against the Bengals on Sunday.
Losing Matthews is no doubt a blow and it’s going to make the offense work even harder on Sunday to stop a hungry Bengals defense. But it’s not a fatal blow, even if it’s something that is going to make Matt Ryan’s Sunday even more interesting than it already was figuring to be.
