It’s not that unusual for a guy to propose to his girlfriend at a sporting event. However, it is strange for a guy to propose by hiding in a head coach’s bathroom.

But that’s exactly how one brave man popped the question.
Drew Clayton was able to get into Nick Saban’s office because of connections his now-fiancee, Kayla Posey, built within the athletic department because she works as one of Saban’s student assistants, according to AL.com.
"He swapped out the 2012 BCS National Championship ring on Saban’s coffee table with Kayla’s custom-made diamond and then retreated to the only place in the office where a man could reasonably hide.Nick Saban’s private bathroom.“For 30 minutes, my stomach is churning and I’m waiting on Kayla to get back,” he said. “It was a very well-kept bathroom, as we would expect from such a perfect coach.”"
Posey was told by co-workers to enter Saban’s office and shine his championship rings. While cleaning the box of rings, she opened it and saw an engagement ring. Clayton then exited the bathroom and made his move.
This is a pretty remarkable story, considering how creative one has to be to orchestrate a proposal like this. Clayton said he was never planning on doing a basic proposal.
"“I was never the kind of guy that wanted to ‘go to dinner and go on a walk and then pop the question,'” Clayton said. “I wanted something that was very cool, and something we could always remember.”"
However, this could be the last time Clayton’s allowed in Saban’s office, considering the newly engaged man admitted he ate one of the coach’s Oatmeal Creme Pies while waiting.
