According to CBS Sports, the child is 4-years-old who was visiting Peterson and when the child returned to his mom noticed bruises and wounds and took him to a doctor who reported the injuries to the authorities.
The Vikings are currently in the process of determining the status of Peterson for Sunday’s Week 2 game and a decision could come as soon as tonight. While the decision has yet to be made about whether he will play or not, the Vikings have issues the following statement:
“The Vikings are in the process of gathering information regarding the legal situation involving Adrian Peterson. At this time, we will defer further questions to Adrian’s attorney Rusty Hardin.”

It is important to remember that just because a person was indicted, it does not mean that the person is guilty of committing the act they were indicted for. Peterson turned himself in and testified in front of a grand jury weeks ago, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The act in question stems from Peterson disciplining his child with a “switch.”
