Noah Spence was supposed to return from his three-game suspension for a failed drug test this weekend for the Ohio State Buckeyes, but that return is now in doubt after a report from Eleven Warriors that says the All-Big Ten selection failed another drug test.

Spence was suspended for the first two games of this season and last year’s Orange Bowl against the Clemson Tigers for testing positive for ecstasy prior to the Big Ten Championship Game loss to the Michigan State Spartans.

Columbus Dispatch reporter Tim May tweets that Spence has been suspended indefinitely.

It looks very possible that Spence has played his last down with the Buckeyes as he could declare for the 2015 NFL Draft this year and could be a possible first round pick with his speed, agility and versatility to be a 4-3 defensive end of an outside linebacker in a 3-4 front.

“We love him dearly, and our focus is to get him the best medical attention we can,” Greg and Helen Spence said in an email to The Dispatch. “We are hopeful that Noah can get healthy and, at some point, resume his career with the Buckeyes.”

If Spence is not dismissed from the team and returns at some point this season, it will only add fuel to the fire for Meyer critics who believe he is too lenient with matters like this and has a history of players running afoul of the law dating back to his previous stop with the Florida Gators.

Spence led the Buckeyes with eight sacks as a sophomore last season and had 52 tackles, 14.5 coming for loss in his breakout year after being a former five-star recruit out of Bishop McDevitt high school in Pennsylvania.
