Alas, Anthony re-signed with the franchise and in the process showed off a much svelter, in-shape body. Where did this come from? Carmelo Anthony has stated he wants to become more of a facilitator in the New York Knicks’ new triangle offense and given he won’t be in the post as often, he doesn’t need all the additional bulk.
But was there something more to Anthony’s improved fitness? Of course, as Carmelo Anthony says he began his offseason training much sooner than normal because he was angry at the New York Knicks’ last season.

In fairness, Carmelo Anthony didn’t blame anybody for the struggles of the organization, though obviously was tired of the losing and had every reason to be unhappy. Given that, many expected him to leave the New York Knicks in free agency, especially since those courting him like the Chicago Bulls, Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets are all teams thought to be title contenders.
A slimmed-down Anthony will certainly help the franchise in the short term, but once the Knicks are able to rid themselves of heavy salary the franchise should be back on the up-and-up. That can’t get here quick enough for Anthony or the New York Knicks fans.
