The 17th-ranked Virginia Tech Hokies earned the biggest win since their last ACC Championship in 2010 when they defeated the then eighth-ranked (and now 22nd-ranked) Ohio State Buckeyes Saturday night.

The 35-21 victory vaulted the Hokies, who entered the season with relatively low expectations, at least from an outside perspective, vaulted the unranked Hokies into the top 25. They will be looking to continue their roll on Saturday when they play host to the East Carolina Pirates.
That, however, won’t be easy. The Pirates entered the season thought by many to be one of the best non-Power Five schools in the country and although they sit at 1-1 after two weeks, they are a very dangerous team. They earned a 52-7 win over North Carolina Central in week one and were defeated by the South Carolina Gamecocks 33-23 last week.
The Hokies will look to continue to improve on offense behind quarterback Michael Brewer while the defense will try to slow the high-powered Pirates’ offense led by quarterback Shane Carden.
The Hokies are 10-point favorites and the over/under is 54.
