After two weeks, there doesn’t seem to be a reason to temper those expectations. The Rebels opened the season with a 35-13 victory over the Boise State Broncos, then last week, defeated the Vanderbilt Commodores 41-3. The Rebels will have two more “tune-ups” before returning to SEC play with a showdown against the third-ranked Crimson Tide at home on October 4 followed by a huge road match-up with the seventh-ranked Texas A&M Aggies a week later. They’ll play that first tune-up on Saturday afternoon when they host the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns.
The Rebels are 28-point favorites (and the over/under is 58.5). Entering the season, the Ragin’ Cajuns didn’t seem like they’d be a huge pushover. However, after a 45-6 win over the Southern Jaguars in week one, they were blown out by the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs 48-20 last week. It would be quite the upset if the Ragin’ Cajuns were able to stay in the game.
