You can never have too much of a good thing and for the New England Patriots, they can always use more targets for Tom Brady.

More from New England Patriots

Alas, wide receiver Aaron Dobson was noticeably absent from New England’s Week 1 game plan and it doesn’t sound as if things are going to expand much going into Week 2. That doesn’t mean the New England Patriots have given up on the young talent nor does it mean he won’t be an intricate part of their offense moving forward.

Dobson, who showed flashes last season, still figures to be included in the New England Patriots’ game plan down the road, this according to the Boston Globe.

"My guess is that he will be a part of the rotation sooner than later, but that’s without knowing exactly why he was inactive last week."

The New England Patriots are always tight lipped when it comes to an injury so it’s difficult to know if Dobson had a setback or if the coaching staff simply wasn’t comfortable putting him on the field yet. Regardless, it seems a bit odd to see Dobson on the sideline if he’s completely healthy so you have to think there was some type of issue that had him shelved.

All that said, it is believed that Aaron Dobson will see the field this weekend against the Minnesota Vikings though how much he’ll actually play is currently unknown. In fact, it’s likely nobody will know until after the game given the secrecy of the New England Patriots.
