The Oregon Ducks found themselves in a matchup against the Wyoming Cowboys that definitely could have been a trap game. Coming off a monumental and resume building victory over Michigan State a week ago, the Ducks had to make sure to show up. Despite getting off to a slow start, the Ducks pushed down on the pedal and cruised past the Wyoming Cowboys.

The first quarter was dominated by the ball control of the Cowboys. With the Ducks unable to mount much of anything on the offensive side of the ball, Cowboys running back Shaun Wick gashed the Ducks defense left and right.
With just over a minute left in the quarter, the Cowboys broken open the scoring on an 18 yard completion from Colby Kirkegaard to Tanner Gentry.
Oregon would immediately erase that lead and charge out front for good. Just five seconds into the second quarter, Marcus Mariota broke off a 15 yard touchdown run.
The Ducks would own the second quarter as Byron Marshall would score the second touchdown for Oregon just under five minutes later. Despite a Matt Wogan missed extra point, the Ducks found themselves up 13-7. Marcus Mariota would then run another one in from 19 yards out, and follow that touchdown up with a 16 yard touchdown pass to Devon Allen.
Thanks to a 27-0 run, the Ducks would head to the half up 27-7.
In the second half, it was more of the same for the Ducks. The third quarter would be started off with a Royce Freeman 12 yard run for a touchdown, and the Ducks would score again on a Johnathan Lloyd five yard reception from Mariota.
The Ducks had now ran off 41 straight points and held the Cowboys off the scoreboard for two full quarters.
In the fourth, Mariota once again ceded to Jeff Lockie for the Ducks.
Wyoming would break their scoreless drought on a D.J. May 12 yard touchdown reception from Kirkegaard.
Oregon would add one more touchdown for good measure as Kani Benoit would punch it into the end zone for his first career touchdown. As the clock read zero, the Ducks found themselves with a 48-14 victory.
Marcus Mariota was once again stellar for the Ducks going 19 of 23 for 221 yards and two touchdowns through the air. He also added 71 yards on five carries, and two touchdowns on the ground. Byron Marshall led the rushing attack with 80 yards and a touchdown of his own.
For the Cowboys, it was always going to be an uphill battle. However, they have to be pleased with how strong Shaun Wick ran the ball, posting 122 yards on just 16 carries. Also, as a team, they were able to move the ball against the Ducks defense for much of the day.
Oregon is on the road next weekend at Washington State while Wyoming will host Florida Atlantic.
