Over the first two weeks of the college football season, the 11th-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish have been impressive.

The Irish defeated the Rice Owls 48-17 in week one and follow that up with a 31-0 victory over the rival Michigan Wolverines in the finale of their series. Perhaps the biggest reason for their impressive play is the return of quarterback Everett Golson. Golson was suspended for all of last season for academic fraud. In his two games this season, Golson has completed 37-of-56 passes for 521 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions.
Next up for the Irish, they’ll take on an in-state rival, the Purdue Boilermakers at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, the home of the Colts. Purdue has not played well thus far – they defeated the Western Michigan Broncos 43-34 in week one but were dominated by the Central Michigan Chippewas 38-17 last week. That’s why the Irish are 28-point favorites in the matchup.
