Sunderland is the nation’s No. 186 overall recruit regardless of position, No. 12 safety recruit and the No. 4 recruit in the state of Oklahoma, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
The 6-3, 195-pound recruit was in Norman for an official visit when he delivered the good news on Saturday afternoon and tweeted a picture with Stoops and his family.

He didn’t plan on taking an official visit to Oklahoma initially after frequently visiting the school 20 minutes from his home on an unofficial basis since the Sooners were the first school to offer him a scholarship a little more than a year ago. However, Sunderland changed his mind and took the official so he could get the experience of it all and the rest is history.
Sunderland is now the 12th recruit in the 2015 class that currently ranks as the nation’s No. 22 class overall and the No. 2 class in the Big 12 conference.
As a junior, Sunderland had 98 tackles and six interceptions.
