He got his wish when he was signed by the New Orleans Saints.
The Saints also broke the bank to sign another former Pro Bowl when they lured safety Jairus Byrd away from the Buffalo Bills. The Saints obviously felt pretty about their secondary (although you wouldn’t know it after Atlanta Falcons’ quarterback Matt Ryan torched them in week one) and decided to release Bailey before the season began.
Everyone around Bailey has maintained that the future Hall-of-Famer does not want to retire and wants to play at least one more season.
In fact, Bailey himself has said he wants to return, telling SiriusXM Radio that if the Detroit Lions call, he will listen.

The Lions have already worked out Bailey, but also have interest in Dimitri Patterson, Roc Carmichael, Tommie Campbell, Chris Clemons and Anthony Walters.
In Bailey’s 16-year NFL career, he has 52 interceptions.
