They mounted a dramatic comeback to nearly defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers in week 1. Now the Browns are trying to pull off an unexpected upset at home over the New Orleans Saints in week 2.
Cleveland might not necessarily be playoff hopefuls or anything like that this season, but they have made an early statement that they will be a tough out for any opponent. The offense has been able to move the ball on the ground and through the air with Brian Hoyer at quarterback. The defense has been vulnerable but has come up with stops in key spots, especially in the second halves of their games so far.
It is the defense that came up big in this spot, sacking Saints’ quarterback Drew Brees to force a punt and give their offense another chance with less than three minutes left in the game and down just one point, 24-23.
