The Texas A&M Aggies came into the weekend with a perfect record and were siting at the the No. 7 spot in the country and that all seemed to stay the same with their game against Rice on Saturday night. It wasn’t a blowout like we saw with Baylor over Buffalo this week, but Texas A&M didn’t have what you’d call a trap game against Rice.

It was another stellar performance by Kenny Hill — now also known as Kenny Trill — who threw for exactly 300 yards and four touchdowns on the afternoon.
Despite the loss, rice didn’t do everything wrong though, as the team has a pair of 80-yard rushers in Jowan Davis and quarterback Driphus Jackson. Davis went for 86 yards but did so on a whopping 23 carries but he was held out of the endzone all night. Jackson took off for 84 yards 13 carries while Darik Dillard got into double digit carries with 11 for just 50 yards.
The win was expected though for the seventh best team in the country as Rice fell to 0-2 with the loss and the Aggies propelled to 3-0 and solidified their place in the top 10 this week. Things remain laid back for the rest of the month as A&M will take on Southern Methodist next before closing out September against Arkansas. October starts with a whimper as Mississippi State kicks things off but that’s the end of the sweet ride for A&M.
Assuming they beat the softer part of their schedule, things get real on as Ole Miss and Alabama are back-to-back games with Auburn and Missouri not far ahead as part of SEC play this year.
