While many fantasy football owners and Cleveland Browns fans were hoping the yearlong suspension for Gordon would at least be cut in half, Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen of ESPN are reporting that Gordon’s suspension will be ten games.
Some players are even luckier.
According to Schefter, the players who will be automatically reinstated include:
- Denver Broncos WR Wes Welker
- St. Louis Rams WR Steadman Bailey
- Dallas Cowboys DB Orlando Scandrick
- New York Giants OL Eric Herman
- Former Minnesota Vikings DE Spencer Nealy
For Gordon and former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver LaVon Brazill, the 16-game ban bumps down to ten games.
The good news for Gordon, however, is that he will be able to work out with the Browns at the team facility. Being around the team will go a long way in ensuring he is ready to go once the ten-game suspension is lifted.
If the Browns continue to perform like they did in Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints, Gordon could be returning to the field and suiting up for a team that is fighting for a playoff push.
