Report: Cristiano Ronaldo could make switch back to Manchester United

Real Madrid made some bold moves this summer, transferring out two high-profile players in Xabi Alonso and Angel Di Maria and bringing in a ton of new faces. However, it appears the transition period is taking its toll on results and is frustrating star forward Cristiano Ronaldo.

That frustration has led to speculation that he could be making a surprise return to former club Manchester United sooner than later. According to a report from Talksport.com, former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon sees a move back to the Red Devils as a possibility.

“My impression is he is fed up with the policy of the current president [Florentino Perez],” said Calderon.

For Ronaldo it is the policy of selling just about every player Ronaldo came to Madrid to play with, and started nearly the second he came to Los Blancos.

Shortly after arriving to play with Arjen Robben, the Dutch striker was sold to Bayern Munich. Then it was the sale of Gonzalo Higuain two years ago, followed by Mesut Ozil being sold and the moves made this summer.

It’s easy to see why that would frustrate a star like Ronaldo.

Manchester United appear to still hold a special place in Ronaldo’s heart and many outlets are reporting that Manchester United are readying a huge move to lure him away from the Spanish giants.

Look for it to be very tempting according to Calderon. “When I signed him in 2008, I remember he said he was grateful to Manchester United. He had a marvelous time there, he likes everything. It is a really great club.”

Given the fact that Real Madrid have dropped two of the first three La Liga matches who knows if the current president will even around come the offseason. That could be a game changer in any potential move away from Los Blancos.

A move like this would certainly be one of the biggest stories of the coming year to say the least. However, a lot could change between now and January or even next June.
