While the Los Angeles Lakers have both Jeremy Lin and Steve Nash on their roster, they’re going to need a end of the bench point guard for depth purposes.

More than that, given the injury history of Nash and the fact he’s proven himself to be rather unreliable, adding a point guard is likely something atop the Los Angeles Lakers’ wish list.
The team recently worked out five players including former Sacramento Kings point guard Pooh Jeter, who most recently has been playing in China. Jeter is by no stretch a savior, but he’s proven himself to be worthy of an NBA roster spot in the past and would likely be a solid depth addition for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Unfortunately the pairing isn’t meant to be as Pooh Jeter decided he will remain in China and will not play in LA.
“I was a native of Los Angeles who grew as Lakers’ fan and so I’m very honored to receive their invitation, I will train in L.A. for two weeks, but I’ll play in Shandong also because I have a contract with them”.
There’s no word on if it was Jeter actually rejecting the Los Angeles Lakers or if it was the other way around. Regardless, it’s another option off the board for the Lakers who will continue to monitor the free agent wire.
In addition to Jeter, Los Angeles also worked out point guard Ronnie Price though there hasn’t been chatter regarding the former Utah Jazz talent.
