The Memphis Grizzlies selected Franklin with the 41st-overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft and the Grizzlies had high hopes for him. However, he played in just 21 games, averaging 1.9 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.3 assists while shooting 41.0% from the field, 45.5% from beyond the arc and 100.0% from the free throw line.
Franklin has been trying to latch on with an NBA team this summer but hasn’t been able to find a landing spot but he may be close to landing a new job.
According to Jabari Young of The San Antonio Express News, the San Antonio Spurs have been working out Franklin this week.
Young also points out that he is close with his former San Diego State teammate, Spurs’ swingman Kawhi Leonard.
It could be good for Franklin to reunite with Leonard and try to carve out a role in the NBA.
