It appears Klay Thompson’s agent Bill Duffy is already creating media propaganda for his client, including taking a shot at Kobe Bryant.

More from Golden State Warriors

Thompson, who is eligible for a contract extension is said to be seeking a maximum level deal. Understandably, that’s something the Golden State Warriors are balking at though Duffy says they have no reason to do so. In fact, Duffy believes Klay Thompson is the best shooting guard in the NBA.

“I don’t want (Los Angeles Lakers star) Kobe Bryant to go crazy, but there’s some uncertainty as to who he is right now (because of injuries that limited him to six games last season),” Duffy told USA TODAY Sports. “But I think Klay Thompson right now is the top two-way, two-guard in basketball. I think when you look at his body of work, when you look at what he accomplished guarding point guards on a regular basis (last season), I think it’s pretty clear.”

While the sentiment may actually be true given Bryant’s age and Thompson’s evolving game, that’s obviously going to be bulletin board material for the Los Angeles Lakers star. Of course, that’s not of concern for Duffy or even Klay Thompson’s pockets, though it certainly gives Kobe extra motivation to stick it to Thompson and the Warriors this season.

How say you, FanSided? Does Duffy have a legit point? Is Klay Thompson a better player than Kobe Bryant currently?
