Toronto Raptors interested in trading for Kenneth Faried
By Wes Goldberg
With Kenneth Faried in the mix of negotiating a contract extension, the Denver Nuggets may be inclined to trade him should the two sides fail to agree on a deal. According to Alex Kennedy of basketballinsiders.com, the Toronto Raptors contacted the Nuggets last season about a trade for Faried.

"Last season before the trade deadline, I reported that the Raptors had contacted the Nuggets about a Kenneth Faried trade. This came from a league source, and I was told that Masai Ujiri was interested in acquiring Faried since he is the one who drafted him. With that said, I don’t know if Denver will be willing to move Faried. I think he has shown significant progress since then (and looked excellent with Team USA), so they may decide to hold onto him. Yes, that will mean that they have to give him a big payday, but I think he has shown that he’s worth it."
Faried proved his worth with a stellar performance for Team USA in the FIBA World Cup, helping the States take home the gold medal with his rebounding and extremely efficient scoring.
Given the basic economic principal of supply and demand, all of this adds up in favor of Faried. Faried showed he could be worth a max deal in the future, and with Raptors lurking (and surely some other teams in need of his services) the demand exists. This could lead to Faried getting the maximum deal at the of the season, with the Nuggets or not.
