Josh McCown throws pick 6, Buccaneers getting blown out (Video)

To borrow an oft-used expression, it is getting late early for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday night in their road showdown with the Atlanta Falcons.

Led by Matt Ryan, the Falcons rolled out to a quick early 14-0 lead, with touchdown passes to Harry Douglas and Julio Jones. That meant that the Buccaneers were already in a tough position, as they would have to throw a lot and play from behind to have any chance in this one.
That might be an even bigger problem for this team because Josh McCown is their quarterback.
When the career backup was handed the reigns in Tampa Bay this off-season, many reasonable people raised their eyebrows at that move. If the early returns are any indication, those raised eyebrows were probably onto something.
McCown found a way to make matters worse for his team in a game that was shaping up to be a blowout, as he threw an ugly pick 6 to Falcons’ defensive back Kemal Ishmael to make it 21-0.
We’ll always have 2013 with the Bears, right Josh?
