When the Miami Heat traded for Shabazz Napier earlier this summer, the incoming rookie couldn’t have been more thrilled.

More from Miami Heat

Selected with the No. 24 pick by the Charlotte Hornets, Napier was quickly traded to the Miami Heat who strongly coveted the former UConn star? Why were they so intrigued with Napier? Well, it was said Shabazz was the favorite target of LeBron James and the hope was that bringing Napier aboard would give LeBron James more incentive to re-sign with the Miami Heat.

James of course decided to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers leaving Shabazz Napier in South Beach without his icon, which eventually lead to the former Huskie unfollowing LeBron James on Twitter.

The Miami Heat of course suggested they liked Napier as a player and acquiring him had nothing to do with LeBron James, but it seems rather evident that was a large portion as to why he was brought in.

Regardless, Shabazz Napier and the Miami Heat have been hitting the practice floor lately and the rookie decided he’d show off some of his impressive shooting skills with a trick shot.

Sitting on the floor near mid-court, Napier gave the ball a dribble on each side of his body before he laid down and flung the rock to the rim. The end result? A pretty impressive basket. Granted, this is something most of could probably do if given enough opportunities, though it’s still nice.
