Could the end of the road be nearing for Oakland Raiders head coach, Dennis Allen? Assuming the poor play continues, it seems very possible.

More from Las Vegas Raiders

After consecutive 4-12 seasons, the hope was that Dennis Allen would be able to lead a roster rich with veteran talent to a better record this season. So far, that hasn’t worked as hoped as the Oakland Raiders currently sit 0-2 and face a tough New England Patriots team on Sunday.

Given that, is Allen worried about his job security? Apparently not as the head coach says the only thing on his mind right now are the New England Patriots.

“What matters is getting ready for the New England Patriots,” he said. “That’s all I’m going to focus on.”

Unless Dennis Allen plans to be extremely candid, he doesn’t really have much else to say. It seems rather obvious that his job is in jeopardy and if things don’t improve very quickly, he could be on the outside looking in.

For what it’s worth, Allen says he hasn’t spoken with owner Mark Davis though that would be unusual considering it’s general manager Reggie McKenzie who Allen reports to.

The Oakland Raiders do have a Week 5 bye, so it seems as if Allen and the Oakland Raiders will have two weeks to get things straight before some tough decisions could be made.
