Peyton Manning hints legalizing pot increased Papa John’s pizza business in Colorado
By Bryan Rose
It’s no secret that Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning owns upwards of 25 Papa John’s franchises in Colorado. It’s also no secret that business is booming.

Sure, pizza and football are a fantastic combo, but that doesn’t appear to be the lone reason as to why Peyton Manning’s investment source is raking in cash at an absurd amount. What could it be? Does the Mile High air make patrons extra hungry?
Probably not, though there might be a little something extra in the air that has people craving pizza.
During a recent interview with Peter King, Manning hinted Colorado’s legalizing of pot as the reason as to why his Papa John’s business is thriving.
“There’s some different laws out here in Colorado,” said Peyton Manning. “Pizza business is pretty good out here, believe it or not, due to some recent law changes. So when you come to a different place, you’ve kind of got to learn everything that comes with it.”
Although Peyton Manning can come off rather goofy and completely out of tune with non-football life, anybody who has seen his hilarious skits on ‘Saturday Night Live’ knows the Denver Broncos quarterback has quite the sense of humor. Of course, there’s a lot of truth to what Manning is suggesting here, but that doesn’t make his comment about those in Colorado having the munchies any less amusing.
