Bill Snyder: Kansas State lost the game more than Auburn won it
By Jack Crosby
Week 4 of the college football season got started off in a big way on Thursday night with a huge match up between the Kansas State Wildcats and the Auburn Tigers. We almost saw one of the biggest upsets of the season, but when it was all in the books, the fifth-ranked Tigers were able to walk away with the 20-14 win.

However, as anyone who watched the game from start to finished will tell you, we maybe should have seen the upset. Kansas State had multiple opportunities to take control of Auburn, but they just couldn’t capitalize. Well, Wildcats coach Bill Snyder agrees, which is rather rare.
Snyder is known for praising the other team whenever his squad is downed. But on Thursday night after the game, when asked whether this was a game that Auburn won or his team lost, well, he pointed out, in a subtle way, that his team blew it.
He’s certainly not wrong. First of all, Kansas State buried themselves in the kicking game. Jack Cantele missed three field goals, which would have been the difference maker in the end, as we can see by the final score. But it wasn’t all on the special teams.
Early on in the game, Kansas State had the chance to make a huge statement with a touchdown, but star wide receiver Tyler Lockett just couldn’t haul it in, which ultimately ended in an interception for the defending SEC Champions.
That play above pretty much sums everything up in regards to Snyder’s comment.
