Shorts was limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday with the injury that has prevented him from playing in the team’s first two games, both losses, as he battled a hamstring injury in the other leg for much of August, but Shorts was confident after Fridays practice that he’ll be a full go for Sunday.
“I plan on playing the whole game,” Shorts said via Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union after practice today. “Let’s go.”
“The last few days went really well,” he said. “It’s exciting to go back out there with my teammates and play again. It’s been a long wait with an up-and-down off-season.”
“The biggest thing is going out there and helping my team and making plays and having fun with the guys and creating some memories out there,” he said.
Shorts will be surrounded by a number of new faces as the Jaguars are likely to start a number of rookies on Sunday, although No. 3 overall pick Blake Bortles will not be one of the new faces in the starting lineup.
He is coming off a season with a career-high 66 receptions for 777 yards and three touchdowns.
