Jameis Winston suspended entire FSU vs. Clemson game
By Josh Sanchez
The top-ranked Florida State Seminoles quarterback Jameis Winston was initially suspended for the first half of this weekend’s ACC opener against the No. 22 Clemson Tigers for shouting an vulgar phrase in the student union.

Florida State caught plenty of backlash for what was deemed an inadequate suspension and late Friday night they announced a change to the Heisman Trophy winner’s status for Saturday.
According to Brett McMurphy of ESPN, Jameis Winston will not play in the entire game.
FSU interim president Dr. Garnett S. Stokes and Director of Athletics Stan Wilcox confirmed the news in a statement.
"Based upon the results of our continuing investigation of Tuesday’s incident involving Jameis Winston, we have decided to not play him for the entire game against Clemson on Saturday night."
This is an obvious blow to Florida State’s chances and opens the door for Clemson to pull off the upset on the road.
If Florida State loses without Winston, it will be interesting to see whether or not the College Football Playoff committee takes Winston’s absence into consideration when seeding the Seminoles.
As for the new punishment, it should take some heat off of Florida State and hush the critics who were saying the university was enabling Winston’s immaturity and not holding him accountable. Now, his entire team must deal with the consequences of their quarterback’s actions and he will have that reality weighing heavily on his shoulders.
Clemson vs. Florida State kicks off at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
