Phoenix Suns not interested in acquiring Ricky Rubio
By Josh Hill
The Minnesota Timberwolves shocked the NBA world on Friday afternoon when they made it known they’re willing to offer Eric Bledsoe a max offer that would free him from the chains in Phoenix and allow him to come to Minnesota with the deal he covets.

Bledsoe doesn’t want to play for the Suns — so desperately that Minnesota is a better option — but he may not be as free as you’ think. He’s a restricted free agent and the Wolves don’t have the cap space to straight up sign him. A sign-and-trade would be needed to make something happen and that’s unlikely.
What else is unlikely is the idea that the Suns would take on Ricky Rubio, as Darren Wolfson from ESPN1500 reports that the Suns have no interest in acquiring Rubio.
It’s looking increasingly likely that a trade will not be made anytime soon and that the Wolves are going to have to just miss out on getting Bledsoe. They’d love to have him but pairing him with Andrew Wiggins seems like a pipe dream at this point and it’s something that the Wolves are just going to have to get over.
