It was no surprise to anyone that the running game paved the way for the Bulldogs. Freshman Sony Michel got a majority of the carries in this one. Heisman trophy candidate Todd Gurley only got six carries, but did accumulate 73 yards.

Michel racked up 155 yards and three touchdowns on just ten carries. When it was all said and done, the Bulldogs had 547 yards of total offense, with 367 of them on the ground.

Georgia rode their backs to a 21-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Huston Mason threw just one pass on the first three drives combined!

The Bulldogs never slowed down. In fact, they didn’t punt for the first time until six minutes into the second half!

Three quarterbacks saw action for Georgia today in Huston Mason, Brice Ramsey, and Faton Bauta. They combined to go 14-22 with 180 yards and three touchdowns without throwing an interception.

The 66 points scored for Georgia was the most they have put up in the Mark Richt era. It was their highest point total since September of 1994.

On top of that, it was the Bulldogs’ largest margin of victory since 1958 when they beat the Citadel 76-0.

The Bulldog defense held Troy to just 216 total yards.

Georgia is back at home next Saturday when they will host the Tennessee Volunteers at Sanford Stadium at noon eastern.
