The Georgia Bulldogs had no trouble defeating the Troy Trojans on Saturday afternoon, winning 66-0, but the win came at a cost as junior running back Keith Marshall was forced out of the game with a leg injury.

Marshall was still rounding into top form after tearing his ACL last season against the Tennessee Volunteers and he took a shot in the same area of the surgically repaired right knee and had to be helped off the field and had his right knee examined on the trainer’s table when he got to the sideline.

The junior tailback hasn’t been asked to carry a heavy load early this season with the presence of Todd Gurley and freshmen Nick Chubb and Sony Michel, but with Chubb out after thumb surgery, received a little extra run today, but his fifth and final carry of the day left him on crutches afterward.

The initial word on Marshall’s injury from head coach Mark Richt is that it is not serious and he will have an MRI taken

Hopefully for Marshall and fans of the Bulldogs that it won’t be another devastating ACL injury and he can return to the lineup in short order and help the Bulldogs compete for an SEC east division title and get to the SEC Championship Game.
