Melvin Gordon put on a show on Saturday afternoon against Bowling Green as the Wisconsin Badgers running back had the monster game college football fans had been clamoring for through the early part of the 2014 season.

The Badgers All-American candidate needed only 13 carries to rush for 253 yards and in the process became the first player to eclipse the 250 yard marker with so few attempts.

The redshirt junior also tied a school record with a 69-yard touchdown run to give him five on the day and in just a little more than two quarters at that as the Badgers had very little difficulty running up the score with their talented running back who could buck recent history and be a first round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Prior to today’s game he had only 178 yards on 33 carries and one touchdown. Gordon was limited to 38 yards on 17 carries in Wisconsin’s win over Western Illinois last week, so it is safe to say he is back and ready for Big Ten conference play to get underway.
