New York Jets news: Jace Amaro to be unleashed?
By Bryan Rose
The New York Jets aren’t exactly overflowing with weapons on the offensive side of the ball. To make matters worse, they could be without top wideout Eric Decker on Monday night against the Chicago Bears.

Given that, what are the New York Jets to do? Possibly unleash tight end Jace Amaro? That’s the thinking of ESPN’s Rich Cimini, who responding to a reader question, hinted that the Jets are possible to expand the role of the tight end.
"Jace Amaro was prominent in the game plan, but he ended up with only one target. Clearly, the Jets have to diversify the passing attack, and that could happen Monday night, especially with Eric Decker (hamstring) a question mark. Amaro has played only 30 percent of the offensive snaps."
Of course, many would have thought Jace Amaro’s ‘unleashing’ would have come against the Green Bay Packers given their suspect secondary, though Amaro was nowhere to be found. As to the reasoning behind that, Cimini believes that the young tight end simply didn’t know the New York Jets’ playbook well enough yet or the coaching staff is still trying to find a niche in the offense for him.
Currently Eric Decker is ‘questionable’ to play so might Monday night be Jace Amaro’s coming out party? It’s certainly setting up for a nice evening, though I’m sure the Chicago Bears will be more than ready to prevent themselves from being on the wrong side of an Amaro breakout.
