Los Angeles Lakers to give Jeremy Lin bulk of point guard minutes
By Bryan Rose
Although the Los Angeles Lakers have Steve Nash on their roster, they obviously can’t count on the veteran who routinely has to deal with injury. Much of that is why Jeremy Lin was acquired from the Houston Rockets this offseason.

For what it’s worth, Nash has stated that he’s as healthy as he’s been in quite some time and believes he can be a contributor this year, though Jabari Davis believes it will be Jeremy Lin who receives the bulk of minutes at the Los Angeles Lakers’ point guard position.
"I think Lin will play well beside Kobe and actually think he should play the bulk of the minutes especially in the early going as they determine what Clarkson’s eventual role may be."
In addition to Steve Nash and Jeremy Lin, the Los Angeles Lakers also have Jordan Clarkson on the roster though he’s unlikely to play all that much assuming Nash is healthy. If (more like when) Nash goes out again, expect Clarkson’s minutes to increase while Jeremy Lin would then play an extremely high level of minutes.
Lin is a free agent at season end and it’s not known if he’s in the Los Angeles Lakers’ future plans, though it’s obvious Steve Nash is not given he’s also a free agent at season end.
Much of Lin’s future in Los Angeles is likely tied to how well he plays this season.
