It’s Teddy time. The Minnesota Vikings got their first look of rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater Sunday when Matt Cassel left the game with a broken left foot.

That means it’s Bridgewater’s job for the foreseeable future.

"Vikings coach Mike Zimmer told reporters after the game that starter Matt Cassel has several broken bones in his foot, which means the job is Bridgewater’s by default.Asked if Bridgewater was his starter moving forward, Zimmer replied: “That is correct.”"
Despite the loss to the Saints, Bridgewater looked solid in his debut. He completed 12 of 20 passes for 150 yards. It won’t be an easy job to step into, though, without star running back Adrian Peterson likely coming back anytime soon.
Cassel got hurt on a scramble early in the second quarter. He was carted to the locker room where his foot was X-rayed and found to have suffered several fractured bones. Cassel was named the starter before the season and had been playing well enough to maintain that role before getting hurt.
Now Bridgewater has the challenging job of not only leading the offense, but leading a team facing off-the-field distractions.
