Ron Roenicke on Brewers’ playoff hopes: ‘It sure doesn’t look good’
By Hayden Kane
The Milwaukee Brewers’ fall from grace is nearly complete. Their collapse is nearly official. Their 1-0 loss on Sunday at the hands of the Pittsburgh Pirates effectively ended their season, though they could still technically make a run to the postseason.

In order to make the playoffs, however, the Brewers would likely need to win the rest of their games and see the teams in front of them, specifically those same Pirates, falter in a significant way. Manager Ron Roenicke acknowledged as much, admitting that the odds are stacked against his team as they sit 4.5 games back with six games left on their schedule.
From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:
"“Now, we’re hoping to get help from somebody and play great,” said manager Ron Roenicke. “We’ve got to basically win out. That’s not easy to do.“It sure doesn’t look good. They’re a good team and they’re playing well. You don’t expect them to not play well the last (seven) games.”"
The Brewers received outstanding pitching all series against the Pirates. Unfortunately for them their offense disappeared, scoring a total of three runs in the three games. That helped to put the final nails in the coffin for their season, one that will unquestionably be remembered as a disappointment.
In hopes of starting a dramatic winning streak to end the season, the Brewers will face the Cincinnati Reds on the road starting Tuesday night.
