Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving will obviously start for Cleveland this season along with new players LeBron James and Kevin Love, but the question is more about his backup at point guard.

Matthew Dellaedova is the Cavs next best point guard on a team where they also have John Lucas III and Jordan Crawford who both play point guard as well, however, both have a chance to be cut from the Cavs before the season begins.
According to Terry Pluto of The Plain Dealer: The Cavs will bring veteran point guard A.J. Price to training camp. He played in only 28 games for Minnesota last season, and saw little action. The 6-foot-2 Price has played in 235 NBA games, averaging 5.9 points and shooting .381 from the field for his career. He’s played five NBA seasons, three with the Indiana Pacers, one with the Wizards and one with the Timberwolves.
Price has shot 38 percent from the field, 32 percent on 3-pointers in his career and it’s limited his value.
The Cavaliers’ depth chart gives Price a chance to make the team, either as the backup or No. 3 point guard. The Cavs probably are not finished looking for point guards to assist Kyrie Irving, but Price looks like a temporary option that will help put up a few minutes a game while Irving rests.
