The Phoenix Suns and restricted free agent guard Eric Bledsoe can’t agree to a deal. That could force Bledsoe to accept their one-year qualifying offer worth $3.7 million and become an unrestricted free agent in 2015.

More from Los Angeles Lakers

David Aldridge of NBA.com sees the Los Angeles Lakers as a logical fit for Bledsoe if he hits free agency in 2015.

"There’s also a California-based NBA franchise that will be looking for a long-term solution at the point after this season. (This team currently has a 40-year-old incumbent at the position.) It will have an inordinate amount of cap room next summer, more than enough for a max offer to a still-young point guard with superstar potential. It would be a gamble for Bledsoe to play this season on the chance that that team would come calling next summer, but that’s why they sell insurance, right?Bledsoe has been quiet almost all summer about his intentions. But if he opts to play the year out in Phoenix on relatively short money, it’s hard to see 2014 as anything but his last year in the Valley of the Sun."

Some believed the Lakers could get into the mix for Bledsoe so this year so it wouldn’t be a big surprise to see them make a move for Bledsoe.

Bledsoe averaged 17.7 points, 5.5 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game while shooting 47.7% from the field, 35.7% from beyond the arc and 77.2% from the free throw line last season. In his four-year NBA career, the 18th-overall pick in the first round of the 2010 NBA draft, has averaged 8.7 points, 3.4 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 44.5% from the floor, 32.7% from three and 75.8% from the charity stripe.
