The New York Jets are hoping to get to 2-1 this week but they’re going to have to beat the Chicago Bears — and so far themselves — to get there. Geno Smith is the future at quarterback for the Jets and he’s playing this season to prove that he was worth a draft pick a lot higher than he was chosen.

What the Jets want is for teams to fear Smith and want to get out of his way. So far no teams fear Geno or the Jets but there was one man on the Bears sideline Monday night who probably should have gotten out of the way.

On a quarterback scramble, Smith was run out of bounds and right into a poor old man just standing there minding his own business.

The Jets are kind of like that old man Smith ran into, as they’re aware that football happens around them but the usually fail to move out of the way when thing come their way. After getting off to a great start in the Rex Ryan era, the Jets have fallen way back and are now trying to save jobs this season unlike they ever have before.
