Denver Broncos’ quarterback Peyton Manning led the Broncos on a six-play, 80-yard drive in just 41 seconds on Sunday afternoon. The drive was capped by a 26-yard touchdown pass from Manning to tight end Jacob Tamme. The Broncos followed that with a strike from Manning to Demaryius Thomas for the two-point conversion that tied their game with the Seattle Seahawks at 20 with just 18 seconds to go.

The Seahawks took a knee and the game went to overtime. In the extra quarter, the Seahawks won the toss. They started their drive on their 20-yard line and marched 80 yards in 13 plays. Marshawn Lynch’s six-yard touchdown run gave the Seahawks the 26-20.
After the game, many Broncos believed they were the better team and should have had a chance to match the Seahawks – which they would have if they had held the Seahawks to a field goal.
Manning believes overtime puts a premium on the coin toss.
“It puts a premium on the coin toss,” Manning said via Mark Kiszla of The Denver Post. “I called tails at the beginning of the game, and went with it again in overtime. It was heads, and it proved to be a significant call. But that’s the way it is. And you’d like to not leave it to that, leave it to get to that situation.”
Maybe the Broncos have a point but it’s not like they didn’t know the rules going in. Would they find it unfair if the Seahawks didn’t get a chance to touch the ball?
