After hopping on a table and shouting profanities on Tuesday, the Florida State Seminoles suspended quarterback Jameis Winston for the first half of their game against the Clemson Tigers Saturday night. On Friday, they decided to make it a full-game suspension.

Despite the suspension, Winston came out dressed for warm-ups. Head coach Jimbo Fisher looked at him and sent back to the locker room to change.

On Monday, Fisher took the blame for Winston dressing out

“That was a miscommunication between us and the locker room,” Fisher said via Brendan Sonnone of The Orlando Sentinel. “Because with the late-night suspension, he was scheduled to dress the next day and the stuff was put out in the locker room when he went in to dress. He assumed he was going to dress for warm-ups and went out and I never saw it.

“It got miscommunicated. [The equipment staff] should have never had it in the locker and that’s exactly what happened. We saw it, corrected it, he was great about it, went in and came back out and did what he was asked to do.”

The Seminoles rallied to defeat the Tigers 23-17 in overtime.

After Saturday night’s game, Fisher said Winston would be back at practice on Monday and would when the Seminoles travel to Raleigh to take on the North Carolina State Wolfpack Saturday afternoon (ABC/ESPN2, 3:30 pm EST).
