Dallas Mavericks officially sign Charlie Villanueva
By Josh Hill
The Dallas Mavericks didn’t land LeBron James, Lance Stephenson, Luol Deng or Carmelo Anthony this summer but they still put together an impressive offseason they can be proud of. They brought back Dirk Nowitzki on a team friendly deal, they grabbed Chandler Parsons away from the Houston Rockets, acquired Tyson Chandler from the Knicks and continue to add great pieces to the roster.

The latest addition the Mavericks are touting is role player Charlie Villanueva, who the team officially announced as signed on Tuesday afternoon.
The signing may be one that pays off big for Dallas later this season as there was nothing all that wrong with how Villanueva in Detroit, he just didn’t fit the system. He’s not an elite player, but as the Miami Heat showed us last season, the NBA Finals are won and lost based on how strong your depth is, and that’s what Villanueva brings.
He may not be a Sixth Man candidate but the Mavericks need to get as much stout depth all across the roster and that’s what Villanueva brings to the table.
