The Indiana Pacers had head coach Frank Vogel on the hot seat last year, but this year may be the season that he finally falls off and gets fried.

More from Indiana Pacers

Vogel needs to have a solid year this season which is a lot easier said than done. But things are looking to be less intense than they could have been as the loss of Paul George buys Vogel a little slack — but not a lot.

According to Steve Kyler from Basketball Insiders, the Indiana Pacers will more than  likely have Frank Vogel on the hot seat this year — which is hardly surprising.

"Vogel will be scrutinized more closely, even with expectations being lower. If his team doesn’t compete, he could find himself out. There isn’t an expectation of challenging for a title this year, but with the roster Vogel still has to work with the Pacers are expecting to compete; failing to do that could spell the end of the line for Vogel."

Vogel can’t really be blamed this season if things go south, as the team is already down and out with Paul George missing the entire season, but things shouldn’t be a total disaster. Indiana should at least make the postseason, and if that doesn’t happen, Vogel may be out regardless of the stress losing George has.
