The San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers got chippy during the second game of their current series on Tuesday night.

Giants’ pitcher Madison Bumgarner hit Dodgers’ outfielder Yasiel Puig early in this one. Puig took exception, Bumgarner challenged him to fight, and the benches cleared. No fights actually broke out, with guys mostly just yelling at each other.

Here is video of the incident:

In efforts to restore calm, managers often remind players that the best way to get payback is by beating the other guy on the field. In this case, both players were successful in doing just that.

To add to the intrigue, Bumgarner than came through on the offensive side of things with a two-run home run of his own, with a fist pump to boot.

Things are always interesting when these two teams meet in meaningful games. If they end up having a chance to renew this rivalry during the playoffs, it should make for an entertaining series.
