Dallas Cowboys cornerback Orlando Scandrick was reinstated after the drug policy was changed. Scandrick had been serving a four-game suspension for amphetamines.

With Scandrick returning to the Cowboys, that means cornerback Morris Claiborne is being demoted from his starting role. Claiborne had the game-winning interception at the end of the come back win over the St. Louis Rams last year.
Claiborne than abruptly left the Cowboys’ facilities, many speculating it was because of Scandrick’s return and him losing a spot in the starting line up.
Claiborne is denying those reports, while suggesting that is exactly what happened.
“I didn’t leave from no stretch of the imagination from them telling me that Orlando was back. That wasn’t the reason why I left,” Claiborne said, via the Dallas Morning News. “The reason why I left was how something was brought to me and how it was presented to me.
“I felt myself at a place where I had to just leave the facility at that moment. I’m pretty sure everybody has been in that, got in that where they had to just leave. They had to remove themselves from what was going on at that time. I was ready for whatever fines or anything that came with that. I felt like if I stayed, who knows what would happen? I felt like the best thing for me was to leave.”
So it wasn’t the news itself, but how it was told to him. Does that mean he found out through social media and news instead of the team and felt disrespected?
Needless to say, Claiborne hasn’t lived up to expectations since being drafted No.6 overall. Still, Claiborne feels he deserves to start.
“Because I’ve worked, I’ve worked for it. Every day I’ve worked,” Claiborne said.
You can expect to see him in nickel packages next week against the New Orleans Saints.
