LeBron James talks about diet, says cookie monster chased him in dreams

LeBron James talked to CNN’s Rachel Nichols about his diet, revealing that he has dropped about 25 pounds down to the 250-pound range.

James told Nichols he dieted for 67 days and is “a lot lighter than I’ve been playing at the last few years, but I feel good.”

James gave up lots of things over the duration of the plan. Pretty much anything that might taste good.

"“I’ll tell you what I couldn’t have. No carbs, no sugar, no dairy, no refined sugar. No nothing. Meat, fish, veggies, fruit.”"

He said it was tough to decide what food was most difficult to avoid.

"“It was either pancakes or chocolate chip cookies and ice cream.”"

He said he’s quicker on the court, but that it came at the cost of some strange, strange dreams.

"“I am (quicker). And that’s not such a good thing for the competition.“(But) I had the cookie monster chasing me a few times in my dreams.”"

Here is a clip from the interview released by CNN, which includes discussion about his reconciliation with Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert and how hard it would have been to leave the Miami Heat had they won a third straight title.

James re-signed with the Cavs in July after four years with the Heat and stayed bulky because he was playing a lot of power forward.

But with Kevin Love also joining the Cavs, James will spend more time at his natural small forward position and with Kyrie Irving at the point and Love throwing those patented outlet passes, quicker is apparently better for James.
