Raiders’ Matt Schaub not going to London for game
By Mike Dyce
The Oakland Raiders are headed to London, and make the trip without quarterback Matt Schaub.
From CSN Bay Area:
"Raiders backup quarterback Matt Schaub left the team just before Sunday’s loss to New England to tend to a family emergency. He has not returned and will not be in London for Sunday’s game against the Dolphins, head coach Dennis Allen announced on Wednesday."
The family emergency was a C-section, as reported by ESPN. Fortunately both Schaub’s wife and baby are doing well according to reports, but Schaub was likely granted a pass on the trip to be with his family as they recover from the scare.
"The team issued a release Saturday saying Schaub won’t play. League sources told ESPN’s Ed Werder that Schaub’s wife, Laurie, had an emergency C-section to deliver the couple’s child, who is several months premature. Schaub’s wife and the baby reportedly are doing well."
That leaves Matt McGloin serving as Derek Carr’s back up quarterback.
